Welcome to the 5th episode of 'The Alphabet of Hair.

Watch video below.

In this latest episode of “The Alphabet of Hair” I’m taking a look at E for hair extensions with my special guest, hairstylist and dear friend Earl Simms. Earl and I use extension within our work, and here we discuss what different types are available, which ones we recommend and discuss if they’re even that popular anymore.

Earl has worked with many Hollywood and British actresses for red carpet events, award ceremonies and campaigns. He came along to share his knowledge with me and combined with mine we can hopefully help you choose the right extensions in the future.

I take an in-depth look at what causes dry and damaged hair, how to counteract it and my best product recommendations.

The 4 main reasons I look at are:

  a) Over processed – chemical damage from colour, straightening, perming, relaxing etc .

 b) Dry heat:  straightening irons,  curling irons, hair dryers and the damage they can do if not used correctly.

 c) Medication – some side effects include causing hair to become brittle

 d) Genetics – how do we get fine, brittle, sensitive , coarse, wirey & unruly hair.
