Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Crawford was born February 20, 1966 and Cindy is one of the original five supermodels named in the late 80’s early 90’s.

Born in the USA her background is German, English, and French, she was discovered working on a nearby farm detasseling corn when a photographer took her picture for a local magazine. She later signed to Elite Model Management’s Chicago division and was hailed for her likeness to late 70s/early 80s model Gia Carangi.  Cindy’s trademark was her beauty mark ( mole) above her top lip.  During the 80s and 90s, Cindy was one of the most popular supermodels, appearing on magazine covers including Vogue, W, Harpers Bazaar, Elle and Allure.

She’s appeared on many catwalks  for Calvin Klein,  Chanel, Christian Dior, DKNY,  Dolce and Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Valentino and Versace. She’s also starred in many fashion campaigns during her career, including Anne Klein, Balmain, Blumarine, Gap, Guess,  Halston, Hermes  Isaac Mizrahi, Revlon and Versace

33 years after being discovered Cindy has announced her retirement from the modelling industry. In a recent interview for United Airlines Rhapsody Magazine,  Cindy, who turns 50 later this month, says,

“I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that’s OK. I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”

Designer Michael Kors said of Ms Crawford,

” Cindy changed the perception of the “sexy American girl” from classic blue eyed blonde to a more sultry brunette with brains, charm, and professionalism to spare.

So lets go and see some of the most fabulous pics of this all American beauty, including one of her last shoots before retiring, a cover of herself and her daughter Kaia for the April 2016 issue of Vogue Paris.
