20 YEARS AGO ( OMG – IS IT THAT LONG??)  I WORKED ON A SHOOT THAT WAS   PUBLISHED IN AMERICAN VOGUE,  SHOT BY THE WONDERFUL ART PHOTOGRAPHER WOLFGANG TILLMANS AND THE FOREVER BEAUTIFUL KATE MOSS.

TODAY IS KATE MOSS’S BIRTHDAY SO TO CELEBRATE THIS ICONIC BRITISH MODEL’S BIRTHING DAY, I’M SHARING WITH YOU THIS SHOOT AND A LITTLE STORY ABOUT THE DAY.

So we’re talking 1997 and it was the era when art photography really started to cross over into fashion.

Wolfgang Tillmans is a German art photographer born in Remschied in 1968.

He was the first non English photographer to be awarded the Tate annual Turner Prize in 2000, and is a member of the Royal Academy of Arts living in Berlin and London, Between 2009 and 2014 he served as an Artist Trustee of the Tate Board. He is also a member of the museum’s Collection Committee and the Tate Britain Council.

He has published numerous books of his work and his other awards include:

  • 2009:Kulturpreis der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Photographie (The Culture Prize of the German Society for Photography).
  • 2014: Charles Wollaston Award, the main prize of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
  • 2015: Hasselblad Award, Hasselblad Foundation, Gothenburg, Sweden.
  • 2015: Royal Photographic Society Centenary Medal and Honorary Fellowship.

This shoot with Kate took place in Wolfgangs flat in London, and I remember it being a fun day. It was a new experience to work with somebody like Wolfgang, who had a different approach to fashion.

He shot on traditional film ( no digital back then)  and so he could see the images, he had the film developed at his local Snappy Snaps on a 2 hour development then would collect them so we all could see how they were. This was a very unconventional way of working but I liked it and it kind of made sense to do that.

Some of the images have now appeared in one ( maybe more- I’m not sure) of Wolfgangs books too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE !!

ITS NEW YEAR AND I CAN’T THINK OF A  BETTER WAY TO KICK OFF THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE YEAR THAN WITH MY FRIEND JOHN ROBERTS. ( VOICE OF LINDA IN BOB’S BURGERS)

JOHN IS GOOD FRIENDS WITH COMEDIENNE MARGARET CHO, AND HERE THEY STAR TOGETHER IN A FAKE TRAILER FOR THE FILM ” MOMMIES IN HOLLYWOOD”

John’s career really took off a few years ago after going viral on Youtube with his “Mom” videos – A character he created that is loosely based on his own mother – albeit a lot more extreme.

The most famous and popular video one being ” Christmas Tree” which I’ve shown before.

THIS MOMMIES IN HOLLYWOOD VIDEO WAS RECENTLY REMOVED FROM YOUTUBE! BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW>

HAPPY NEW YEAR ——- 2017 IMPORTANT MOODIE BLOG NEWS

HAPPY NEW YEAR

 !!!!!!!!! EVERYBODY !!!!!!!

It’s 2017 and a lot of people are happy that 2016 is over!

I’ll be honest and say 2016 was not the best year of my life, what with family deaths and illnesses etc, but one thing I have realised is that life goes on and even though we lose loved ones, we have to try and enjoy every moment whilst we are still alive ourselves. Mourning, grief and upset are all natural processes we have to go through as human beings when we lose somebody close, but its important to try and remember that the deceased loved ones would want us to carry on and enjoy life to the fullest and keep all the happy memories of themselves in our heads,  as opposed to just the sad ones.

So with that said, I plan to make 2017 a better year than the one before. Obviously we cannot predict everything that will happen throughout the year and life will throw unexpected curve balls for sure, but I plan to embrace every curve ball in any way that I can.

So what do we/us ( the Moodie Blog lot)   have in store for you in 2017 – well first and foremost, my blog and website will be having a bit of an overhaul. What does this mean I hear you cry?  Basically the website will be getting a slight re-design to allow for more content and then the blog posts will be getting some changes too. This will mainly include new and interesting subject content etc. Of course, some of the old favourites will still appear, i.e.: Moods Comedy Monday, Just another Moodie Monday, Old and New editorial posts etc but I will be adding new content which will be revealed sometime in February.

PLEASE BEAR WITH US WHILST WE MAKE THOSE CHANGES!

DURING THOSE CHANGES THERE WILL BE LESS WEEKLY BLOG CONTENT APPEARING WHISLT WE WORK ON THE NEW ONES ( SORRY, WE’RE JUST A SMALL OPERATION AND ALL MAN POWER IS GOING ONTO THE NEW CONTENT BUILDING).

MEANWHILE I WILL KEEP SHARING THE ODD POST JUST TO KEEP YOUR APPETITES SATISFIED, SO PLEASE KEEP COMING BACK AND VISITING, AND BE READY FOR THE NEW US IN EARLY FEBRUARY.
