Back in February 1997 – I had the pleasure of going to Tulsa in Oklahoma, for W magazine with the photographer Carter Smith and the supermodel Amber Valletta.

Even though she was born in Phoenix Arizona, Amber was raised in Tulsa, and we all went back to the area where Amber grew up to do this shoot. We met and had lunch with her family, including her grandmother, parents and brother. What a pleasure it was to meet them all and see the area where Amber spent most of her childhood.

We shot in various places and these are just some of the images from that shoot.

Bridget Hall was a 90’s sensation Supermodel !

She began modelling at the age of 10 in Dallas Texas and shortly after her mother moved her to New York, where by the age of 18 she was listed in Forbes as one of the top 10 money making supermodels, after landing an exclusive contract with Ralph Lauren, plus appearing in the Versace campaign with all the other supermodels. She has graced the covers of every top fashion magazine, plus she appeared in Sports illustrated in early 2000’s and was a Victoria’s Secret model in 1998. She recently appeared in Love Magazine and Dazed and Confused and was the star of Prabal Gurung’s A/W 13 campaign as well as being on the catwalk of Alexander Wang’s A/W14 catwalk show.

Steven Meisel was quoted as saying ‘she is a very rare thing. The face he said, is almost perfect.”

Bridget has one of those rare qualities as a model where she can transform from being the all American beauty to the coolest girl on the street.

I’ve worked with Bridget on numerous occasions and she’s so much fun to be around. She’s actually a bit of a mischievous Tom boy at heart and loves to have a laugh. She is a keen snowboarder and a Super Dallas Cowboys fan.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the collection of images of this Southern Beauty we’ve put together for you today.

MOODS COMEDY MONDAY- STEVE COOGAN AS ALAN PARTRIDGE- DAN

Posted by | Blog | No Comments

Alan Partridge was one of those characters that if he hadn’t been created, well, the world just wouldn’t be as great a place as it is.

Created by Steve Coogan, he came about after Coogan was asked to create a generic British sports reporters voice. Together with writer Armando Ianucci they decided he was “an Alan” and ‘A Partridge”

They quickly decided that he is socially incompetent and awkward, prone to one up-manship, embarrassing social faux pas and displays of deep insensitivity to social norms. His thoughtlessness and selfish lack of interest in anything beyond himself exposes an unsympathetic character that is disliked and privately lampooned by many of those with whom he comes into contact.

Partridge became a huge success on British TV and this particular sketch is where he’s trying to attract the attention of someone who he considers to be his new best friend. Apparently, Coogan ad-libbed this and the scene went on much longer than planned, creating a moment of comic genius.

ON ALL FOURS – BUSTER’S WITH THE BAND.

PHOTOGRAPHS OF FAMOUS ( AND NON FAMOUS PEOPLE) laying around and over vinyl records has been popular pretty much since vinyl first appeared. Some of the more well known ones feature Iggy Pop from 1973 ( as shown here)  .

Now Buster’s always loved being part of the band or following bands and he decided to do his own lying on vinyl picture. So, Is it iggy Pop, Is it Rosemary Ferguson from British Vogue shot by Corinne Day or is it Arizona Muse shot by Cass Bird for British Vogue?  or is it any of those?

Well no, it’s none of the above,  its Buster, and he’s most definitely with the band!!

MY STORY SO FAR (AND THE HAIRCUTS!) – 1995 in Jamaica for work.

Back in 1995 ( or 96 possibly) , I went to Jamaica for the first time with my friend Corinne Day for a shoot for Spanish Vogue.

We went with the models Georgina Cooper ( seen in the pictures with me) and George Clements, plus M-Up artist Virginia Young. We had all become friends from working with each other quite a few times.

The trip was a lot of fun and I’d begun to grow my hair a little again. The heat and humidity in Jamaica made the curls go crazy. Here’s some behind the scene pics of that trip. I’m trying to find a copy of the actual shoot ( which is proving to be a little difficult) but if and when I find it I’ll post them as an editorial archive.
